Connectivity
An organization assumes great risk when it employs only one method of connectivity to the outside world. All of the
standard carrier-based methods of connectivity, from standard POTS dialup services to Satellite, have the potential for
service interruption due to many uncontrollable causes. As with other components of a company's IT infrastructure,
redundancy minimizes this risk, yet most companies sacrifice redundancy for budgetary considerations.
IASP utilizes a redundant 10 Mbps, burstable to 100 Mbps, Ethernet feed directly to the upstream carrier to the Internet. This upstream carrier
provides proprietary routing via Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for least cost-best path while simultaneously avoiding
the Internet points of congestion, commonly referred to as "The Maes." IASP is homed on the same backbone as the New
York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ.
